If you were to visit me around this time of year, I might throw you a snowball or two. But alas, we have no snow yet.
Nevertheless, there are always lots of words to go around. Here are snowballs of a different sort.
The form of these poems is called a snowball, where poetry and math come together. Each line has a single word, the first being a single letter, and each following word has an added letter. In some cases, I’ve made a concrete poem, where the shape illustrates the subject. “Convertedevils” includes an inverted snowball. “Transformation” circles back to its title, which has one letter more than the last line, and is turned sideways to convey a growth chart. “A+ to Z” gives Z, at last, its due, and I’ve played with the lines while remaining true to the sequential count.
A bit superfluous perhaps, yet snowballs are fun. You might try your hand at one.
